PADI Open water Dive course $595 pp
Or do it with a friend and save $50 each!
The PADI Open Water course is the first step of scuba diving certifications. You will need to be 14 years or older, an adequate swimmer, feel comfortable in the water, and in good physical health. No prior experience to scuba diving or snorkelling is required.
Your medical history may require you to complete a dive medical and have a specialised diving doctor certify that you are fit to dive. To find out whether you need one or not, click here. Please answer the questions with a “Yes” or a “No”.
If you answer all questions with a “No” you do not require a dive medical to do your course. If you answered Yes to any of these questions, you will need to get a GP to conduct a dive medical to certify you as fit to go SCUBA diving. Many GPs offer this service in Busselton, Perth and most other areas too. Prices do vary so ringing around for quotes may be worth your while.
Can I take photos or videos?
Absolutely – just check in with your Instructor for the best times and places to do this during your course.
Can I fail the level 1 open water diver and not obtain my certification?
Your instructor will assess whether or not you are a competent Open Water Diver at the end of your course. They do fail students though this happens very rarely, and only after they have tried their very best to do what they can to help all of their students pass.
Do I need to be able to swim? You need to be comfortable in the water, able to swim 200m unaided (this doesn’t have to be fast at all!), and be able to tread water for 10 minutes.
What to bring?
- Beach clothes
- Warm jacket or jumper
- Dive Medical if required
We’ll provide everything else you’ll need: SCUBA equipment, wetsuit, mask, fins, etc.
